What is Freeze? Who came up with this idea?
Freeze is when a group of people gather at a certain location and do-not-move/freeze for a few minutes. It happens unannounced and unexpectedly to the others who are not part of the group thus creating a scene and gauging a response. ImprovEverywhere from USA came up with the Freeze idea. It is a ‘mission’. They have many other missions and their missions are adopted by other people in other parts of the world.

What is the point of Freeze For World Earth Day (FWED)?
FWED is very much like the Freeze introduced by ImprovEverywhere, except that there is a cause and objective. Primarily, the event seek to create an impact and awareness for earth related issues and the forthcoming World Earth Day on April 22nd which will be celebrated worldwide.

Who can come to the event?
Malaysians and non-Malaysians. Infant, baby, child, adolescent, youth, adult. Men & women.

KLFU was on 13th April, and now FWED is on 20th April. It’s too soon.
It can also be too late. The Freeze idea is a buzz right now in Malaysia due to KLFU and it has proven to be an effective way of bringing human beings together for a cause and producing an impact. There are various ways to celebrate, create awareness and produce an impact for World Earth Day. The organisers pick Freeze, with a twist.

What’s the twist?
Normally, everyone comes to Freeze to cause a scene and do it purely for fun. We are taking part of that, and going beyond. It is in conjunction with World Earth Day. One of the things we are persuading people to do is to take public transport to Sunway Pyramid and to turn off all electrical appliances at home before they leave. As much as you can of course. If your cat will fall sick without aircond, then maybe not.

Where is it going to be?
Sunway Pyramid. Just one place. We will confirm soon where exactly in Pyramid. It also depends on the response we get prior to the event.

Who are organising it (FWED) this time?
It was hitz.fm who initiated the idea and approached the Zain HD who went to the meeting with Pravin Pillai. After discussion, we agreed that FWED will be organised by hitz.fm, UNITED COLOURS OF MALAYSIA, RandomActs and RandomAlphabets.com

Is it always going to be Freeze?
As far as RandomActs and UNITED COLOURS OF MALAYSIA (Facebook groups) are concern, our future missions won’t be Freeze. We actually have a mission planned to be executed sometime middle of May and it’s definitely not Freeze. Keep a lookout for that on RandomAlphabets.com and the two Facebook groups.

It was different in New York and London.
Because that is New York and that is London. This is going to be in Malaysia. Human beings yes, with similar instincts. But different culture, climate, tendencies, mentality, character. More importantly, we have a cause to this event. They had a 1 off 1 day flash mob. We’re not doing that. They may have started it, but they don’t determine for everyone else how ‘it should be’. No one person does. And I’m sure we all can agree on this. :)

I disagree.
Wait for future events. :) We have a few missions in mind and if you agree with that one, come for that one!

What do I wear?
For 20th April, everyone wear something green!
