Artistic egypt camera

Minaret. Mosque. Cairo. Egypt.I am no photographer. I’ve only been told a few times I’ve a ‘good camera eye’.

But that has never prompted me to get a proper camera, be it to start it as a hobby or to appear cool in by carrying it in public. I respect your interest don’t snap a photo of nothing and give this artistic grandoise twist to make it ‘something’.

No. It’s a bad shot. Take it as it is. It says something yes, but don’t go all arty and romanticise that rubbish.

Herobear is now still in Egypt I think. Now he, is good at what he does. Not sure if he’s got his pictures up yet though.

Here are some of my bad shots in Egypt circa June 2006.

The one below at an airfield. That’s the sun by the way. Not Batman’s spotlight. The other below it, is of the Nile. What I like about it is that it’s not a typical tourist or tourism frame of Cairo. The barren billboard says something, and so does the vehicles and the concrete horizon on the far end. But of course when I took it, all I had in mind was,

ouh, the Nile! Titus Pullo was in this river once. Brilliant’.

FYI, did you know that if you throw a Message in a Bottle in Sungai Besi, it takes 482 days to reach the Cairo section of the Nile? True story.

Airport. Cairo. Egypt. Sun.

Note: Nile. Egypt. Billboard. Vehicles. Concrete horizon.
