In relation to the South America trip, because of the long flight and route (KUL-JOBURG-CAPETOWN-BUENOSAIRES-CAPETOWN-JOBURG-KUL), I plan to stopver at Cape Town for a few days, and on the way back, Joburg. However, I’ve been told that it’s not a safe place.

I have found a solution for the Joburg leg. Botswana.

The nearest place to Joburg that I want to go to, besides itself, is Zimbabwe. However, we all know the situation Zimbabwe is in today. If you don’t know, then continue being bliss.

Months ago I was invited to dinner by a similar spirited friend, Karen. There I met her colleague, Patrick Erler. An Austrian who, like Danny Archer, grew up in Rhodesia, now known as Zimbabwe.

*I thought with the elections, things would get better. But I read recently that, (finally) after the count, Morgan lost the simple majority vote by 2%. A recount is being mooted for, of course. I personally know someone who might go to Kenya 4 weeks end of this month for volunteer work. While I am super envious, greatly happy for her and beaming proud, my concern too is top of the charts. I know she’ll be alright. Better be so.

He was telling me about how their currency used to be one-to-one to the UK Pound. “But now they’ve got a 1000% inflation. So forget Zimbabwe. It’s a beautiful country, but now’s not the time to go. Go to Cape Town. It’s beautiful. Amazing.”

Yea I know what you mean. Which is why I am going back.

Alright. Either way, you’re right. Joburg is not safe. 17 unsolved murder cases EACH day. Even I don’t go out at night in Joburg.

A month or so after, through (Connectiong People Queen) Pial and later Nina, we had dinner with Nami Traeholt and her Tapir expert Danish husband, who has done his fair share of travelling. He suggested Botswana. Brilliant.
